Haunted places: La Casona del Salto de Tequendama

As many others I love ghost stories and places they say are haunted. A few minutes ago I found a beautiful picture of an old hotel. I just had to Google it up and read more about her story.

This old lady was built in 1923 and opened for visitors in 1924 under the name of Hotel del Salto. It's situated in Colombia by a main attraction, Salto del Tequendama, which means falls of Tequendama. The hotel is situated on a cliff with a breathtaking view. In old times the cliff was a popular place to commit suicides. 

The beautiful hotel closed it's doors in 1990 and hasn't open them since then. The reason may be the river, who was very polluted, or perhaps the view lost it's interest among visitors, or maybe my favorite reason - the hotel was haunted and no one wanted to stay there anymore... I have no idea about the real reason, but this is one of the places I sure want to visit!

Ps. I found out that (un)fortunately the place isn't abandoned any longer. Today you may visit an ecological museum they formed and opened a little time ago in the haunted hotel.
